Baglihar Project workers highlight demands

KISHTWAR, Apr 12: To discuss their problems, workers of Baglihar Hydroelectric Project convened a meeting under the banner of Chinar Power project Workers Union, here today.
The meet was chaired by Joginder Bhandari, who asked the management of Jaiprakash Associates to provide all facilities to the workers of Baglihar HE Projects at par with Chenani-Nashri four-lane tunnel workers, who are being Rs 276 for eight hours work.
President of the union, Farooq Ahmed Tapal and other senior leaders threatened agitation if their demands, which also include retrenchment compensation to the workers, are not conceded by the JP Industries management.
The meeting was also addressed by Khalil Tapal, Gh Hussain Shah, Mohd Amin Butt, Ramesh Rana and Gh Mohd Bhagwan.
