Bail application in attempt to murder case rejected

JAMMU, Dec 16: Bail application has been rejected by 2nd Additional Munsiff Court Jammu in attempt to murder case registered at Police Station Gharota.
As per official spokesman, today the 2nd Additional Munsiff Jeewan Kumar Sharma has rejected the bail application of accused Shakti Singh involved in a case registered under FIR Number 93/2020 under Section 307, 447, 34 IPC and 3/25 and 4/25 Arms Act with Police Station Gharota.
Counsel for the accused has stated that the accused has never indulged in any criminal activity and has been involved by the police in a false and frivolous case.
On the other side APP Naveed Anjum appearing on behalf of UT argued that the accused has committed non bailable serious and heinous offence and hence cannot claim bail as a matter of right. APP further stated that investigation of the case is at inception and the material witnesses in the case are under treatment and are battling for the life. Moreover the weapon used in the offence is yet to be recovered from the possession of accused person. APP further stated that co-accused in the case are absconding and yet to be arrested by police.
After hearing both the sides, 2nd Additional Munsiff rejected the bail application on the ground that the custodial interrogation of the accused is required and if he admitted to bail, the fair investigation in the case cannot be conducted.
