JAMMU, Oct 25: Special Mobile Magistrate Electricity Jammu Vinod Kumar has rejected the bail application of one Saleem Yousaf, son of Mohd Yousaf Bhatti of Mendhar, who was arrested by the Crime Branch in loan fraud case.
After hearing APP Anil Saini for the Crime Branch, Special Mobile Magistrate court observed, “the accused has submitted that he is innocent and asserted that he is the sole breadwinner of his family. However, it is the duty of the court to safeguard the interests of justice and protect the integrity of the criminal justice system”.
“Granting bail in this case could send a wrong signal to society, therefore, considering the seriousness of the charges, the court finds it inappropriate to grant bail to the accused at this juncture. Moreover the investigation is still at an early stage, and more facts are yet to emerge. Keeping in mind the facts and circumstance of the case the bail application is rejected”, the Magistrate said.
