Bail denied to 5 accused in attempt to murder case

JAMMU, June 13: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi Kamlesh Pandit has rejected the bail applications of five accused namely Deepak Kumar, Sanjay Vaid, Rinku Sharma, Bablu Sharma and Ajay Kumar, who were involved in attempt to murder case.
According to the police case, on February 19, 2020 accused persons armed with sharp-edged weapons attacked one Sunil Sharma, son of Purshotam Sharma of Aghar Jitto over an old enmity. Accordingly, case for commission of offences under Sections 307/323/341/147/109 IPC read with Section 4/25 of Arms Act was registered against them.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “the attack was allegedly made on the basis of rivalry, so it is reasonably apprehended that the accused persons once enlarged on bail would definitely indulge into threatening of the witnesses and also there is reasonable apprehension that they would also jump over the bail if granted”.
With regard to the submission that one of the accused is suffering from AIDS, the court said, “this ailment now a days is not life threatening and has effective treatment which he can avail while in jail also for which separate directions are issued to the In-charge Sub-Jail, Reasi”.
With these observations, the court rejected the bail application.
