Bail granted to JDA employee

JAMMU, Jan 21: Court of Special Mobile Magistrate Electricity today granted bail to an employee of Jammu Development Authority (JDA), who was arrested for allegedly outraging the modesty of a woman.
The employee namely Amarnath Sharma, son of Veer Chand of Bhawani Nagar was arrested on January 12 on the complaint of Usha Devi, wife of Satpal Choudhary of Bhagwati Nagar mentioning that she was molested by the accused.
After hearing Senior Prosecuting Officer for the State and Advocate A R Khan for the accused/applicant, Special Mobile Magistrate Electricity R H Mirza observed, “no doubt offence alleged against the accused is anti-social and non-bailable. The accused being a saint committed anti-social offence as alleged but pre-judging its pros-cons will not serve the end of justice”.
“Further detention of the accused in custody will not serve the purpose because accused has the right to defend himself during the trial”, the court said while admitting him to the bail on furnishing of bail bond of Rs 20,000 and personal bond of like amount for satisfaction of Superintendent District Jail Jammu.
