RAJOURI, Jan 16: A large number of Bakerwal community members held protest demonstration outside the office of Deputy Commissioner here today.
The Bakerwals in large number assembled near Dak Bangalow, Rajouri and then moved towards DC office in the shape of a rally. They held demonstration outside DC office and projected their demands. They alleged that most of the benefits being granted to ST community have gone to Gujjars while the Bakerwals being really nomads, have been deprived off the benefits. They alleged that Govt is also ignoring the Bakerwals of their due right.
After holding protest demonstration for about an hour, they submitted a memorandum to the Governor NN Vohra through DC Rajouri. Later, they dispersed.
