JAMMU, Jan 3: BJP spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan today said that Congress during its rule totally ignored the contribution of Dr B R Ambedkar– the founding father of Indian Constitution.
While talking to a group of SC community members about the greatest contributions of Dr Ambedkar here, today Balbir said that the nation is going to celebrate 75th Constitution Day this year, and the total neglect and disrespect to Dr. Ambedkar by the Congress needs to be highlighted. The people of marginalized classes should take a pledge to defeat Congress at every level and in every field he said, adding the Congress was the political party, which ruled the country for decades together after independence but did not deem it necessary to honour Dr. Ambedkar, while it gave Bharat Ratna to its own people like Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi,.
He said that the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, visualized a framework that safeguards the rights of marginalized communities, including Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs). Today crores of members of these communities are leading dignified life due to the efforts of Dr.
Ambedkar only, he added and accused Congress of trying to exploit the marginalised sections even today though it did nothing to keep legacy of this great leader intact.
