JAMMU, May 15: Government today appointed Balbir Ram as Vice Chairperson of Board of Directors of J&K Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe and Backward Classes Development Corporation.
The order to this effect was issued by the Social Welfare Department today.
Soon after his appointment Balbir Ram assumed the charge. He visited the office of the Managing Director, J&K SC, ST, OBC Development Corporation at Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and had a short interaction with the staff there. He enjoined upon the staff to maintain punctuality and remain devoted and dedicated towards the downtrodden and under privileged target groups being financed by the Corporation.
He also assured full cooperation to the staff by acting as a via-media between the government and the Management of the Corporation in mitigating the problems being faced by them. Further, he demanded assurance from them in return that they will leave no stone unturned in helping the down trodden people of the society, who are the target group of the Corporation in facilitating them in availing loan facilities through this Corporation.
The senior officers of the Corporation who were present on the occasion included G.Q Khatana, Division Manager, Joginder Paul, District Manager, besides other staff members of Head office, Division and District Office, Jammu.
