JAMMU, Dec 29: BJP leader, Balbir Ram Rattan here today flayed the mismanagement and poor planning of Power Development Department (PDD) in maintaining the transformers and feeders.
Reacting to reports which claimed that over 15 transformers were burnt and many feeders got damaged in a single day in Jammu after season’s first rainfall, Rattan said that burning of such a large number of transformers has badly hit lakhs of people in different areas of Jammu.
“This exposes poor preparedness of PDD,” he maintained adding, “Frequent power cuts and poor maintenance of electricity infrastructure has disrupted daily life, particularly during the harsh winter months.”
The BJP leader further said that power cuts not only hamper household activities but also impact local businesses and industries.
“Despite repeated assurances by PDD officials about improving the power supply, the situation remains grim,” he continued.
Rattan expressed hope that the department would take proactive measures to ensure regular power supply.
