JAMMU, Dec 29: The 37th annual general body meeting of Balgran — a charitable home for destitude children at Channi Rama (Jammu) was held today in its premises.
VK Raina, honorary secretary of Balgran, welcomed the members and briefed the audience about various activities and achievements of Balgran. He presented annual report of the organization and highlighted various programmes undertaken during the year 2022-23.
President of Balgran, AK Khajuria, emphasized on devotion, dedication and sincerity of members for functioning of the Charitable Home while Dr Shashikant Goswami (honarary treasurer) presented audited accounts of the Balgran ending March 2023 which were approved by the members present in the meeting.
Meanwhile, elections for the office bearers and members of the governing body for 2024-2027 were also conducted. AK Arora (patron-in-chief of Balgran) was the returning officer) for the elections.
VK Raina was elected as president, JK Gupta reelected as vice-president, Mohit Vij as vice-president, Prof RD Sharma as honorary secretary, Dr Rakesh Khajuria as honorary joint secretary and Dr Shashi Kant Goswami reelected as honorary treasurer. Subash Chander Sharma, Ashok Kumar Kapoor, PK Kohli and Ravinder Gupta were elected as members of the governing body.
The elections for trustees of Balgran Charitable Trust for the period 2024-2027 was also conducted on the occasion and AK Khajuria was elected as member secretary, Mohit Vij as treasurer, Sadhna Kachroo and Ashok Kapoor as trustees and VK Raina (president of Balgran) as ex-officio chairman of the Trust.
Further, AK Khajuria, Prem Gupta and Ponit Nanda (Life members) were nominated as patrons of Balgran by the AGM.
