JAMMU, Feb 29: Senior BJP leader and former Minister, Bali Bhagat in a hard hitting statement has reminded former Chief Minister and NC president, Farooq Abdullah that people of Jammu and Ladakh, especially the minorities, were treated like second class citizens for the last 17 years during the NC-Congress rule. He said that these parties brought only destruction to the erstwhile state while Modi led Government restored peace and stopped further destruction.
Bali Bhagat who has been nominated as Election Prabhari for Nagrota Assembly constituency launched this scathing attack at NC leader while addressing a gathering at Nagrota today.
He vehemently castigated Farooq Abdullah for looting Gujjar and Bakerwal votes in the name of religion in every election during last 70 years. He alleged that NC and Congress did nothing for the upliftment of these communities. He said that these two parties who ruled the roost in erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir are wholly and solely responsible for the miserable living conditions of refugees of 1947 in their own country for seven decades, their only fault being that they were Hindus.
He asserted that it is the Bharatiya Janata Party Government that restored all the genuine rights to these deprived sections including Gaddi, Sippy, Balmiki and PoJK displaced after 70 years of misrule by the NC and Congress Government in J&K.
Further coming down heavily on the NC leader Farooq Abdullah, Bali Bhagat said that it stands amply proved today that Farooq regime was responsible for shutting down business establishments of hard-working Kashmiris with daily Bandhs, strikes and stone pelting by hobnobbing with the separatist and secessionist groups.
Asserting that NC’s hands are soaked with blood of innocent people, he held the party responsible for killing of more than forty-three thousand people of Kashmir and other terrorism affected areas of this Union Territory during the last over three decades.
The former Minister said that in the upcoming Parliamentary and other elections people will teach the NC and Congress a lesson for importing terrorism into Jammu and Kashmir and carried it for 25 years which ultimately resulted in total destruction of the erstwhile State.
