Bali Bhagat criticizes Cong for hypocrisy on Art 370

JAMMU, Nov 16: Senior BJP leader and former minister, Bali Bhagat today launched a scathing attack on Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for U-turn on the issue of Article 370, accusing the party of altering its stance purely to suit its political agenda.
He stated that Congress’ actions speak louder than its words, as the party’s approach aligns more with Pakistan’s interests than with the aspirations of the nationalist people of India.
“The Congress Party has always been inclined towards Pakistan. The tone and tenor of Congress leaders today mirrors that of Pakistan’s leadership, rather than representing the values and aspirations of patriotic Indians. This is evident in their reluctance to stand up for the nationalist cause and their constant attempts to sabotage India’s unity and integrity,” he asserted in a statement issued here today.
The former Minister further referred to the historic conspiracy between Jawahar Lal Nehru and Sheikh Abdullah, which he claimed deprived the people of Jammu and Kashmir of their rightful benefits. He demanded an apology from Congress for this grave historical blunder, especially for depriving the Valmiki community, Gorkhas and refugees of their due rights, despite their unwavering patriotism.
“Congress has deliberately engaged in settling Rohingyas in Jammu and Kashmir for political gain, pandering to vote banks at the cost of national security and local aspirations. This is a dangerous precedent that exposes the party’s priorities,” he said.
Bhagat also criticized Congress for its silence when the nation stood firm in opposing the special status for Jammu and Kashmir, stating, “When it was time to defend the nation, Congress kept quiet. Now, with elections around the corner and the party’s sins being laid bare, Kharge is scrambling to offer baseless excuses, hoping to escape the wrath of the people of India who have made up their minds to reject Congress once and for all.”
The former Minister stated that Congress’ actions over the years have led to a loss of credibility, and its leadership must own up to its past mistakes if it ever hopes to regain the trust of the nation.
