JAMMU, May 22: Senior BJP leader and former Minister, Bali Bhagat has demanded immediate regularization of paramedical staff working for the last over 11 years on academic arrangement under SRO 384.
In a handout Bhagat said, about 1200 paramedical personnel appointed under the aforesaid arrangement have been rendering their services since 2011 and continue to play a commendable role even during the ongoing pandemic.
He also said that these paramedical personnel did remarkable work by rendering their services round the clock during calamities including flash floods and 2016 unrest.
The BJP leader said that it was really against the law not to regularize these persons despite the said SRO having provision for their regularization after putting in six years of services.
“Several of these personnel are over-aged and are presently not eligible for J&K government jobs,” Bhagat maintained emphasizing that several posts are lying vacant in the Medical Education Department and regularization of these personnel can be done against the sanctioned posts.
He also raised the issue of over 10000 NHM employees working in J&K Health Department who he claimed despite being the backbone of Health Department are facing a miserable plight as they were recruited under Central Sponsored Scheme and are rendering their services on contractual basis since 2005.
The senior BJP leader appealed to the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to regularize at least all such employees who are working as frontline warriors in the hour of crisis.
