JAMMU, Dec 3: Senior BJP leader and former Minister, Bali Bhagat today strongly condemned National Conference (NC) leader Farooq Abdullah for his remarks criticizing the termination of government employees found involved in anti-national activities.
He described Abdullah’s statements as “regressive” and accused him of attempting to undermine the government’s efforts to eradicate terrorism and its sympathizers in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a press statement issued here today, Bali reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding national security and emphasized that strict action against anti-national elements is imperative for ensuring peace and stability in the region.
“The termination of employees found involved in anti-national activities is a step in the right direction. The government at the Centre will not tolerate anyone who compromises national security, be it an individual or an institution,” he said.
The former Minister further accused NC leadership of shielding those who pose a threat to the unity and sovereignty of the nation by opposing such decisive actions and held them accountable for decades of misgovernance and turmoil in Jammu and Kashmir.
The BJP leader also praised the Union Government for its proactive approach in identifying and addressing threats to national security, including within the ranks of government institutions.
He stressed that such measures are crucial for restoring the faith of the people in the administration and ensuring that government machinery works in the best interest of the nation.
“The Modi government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and its sympathizers is vital for building a secure and progressive Jammu and Kashmir. Leaders like Farooq Abdullah should refrain from making irresponsible statements that demoralize efforts to establish lasting peace,” he added.
