JAMMU, Dec 11: Giving further boost to the infrastructural activities in the Raipuru-Domana constituency, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today launched developmental works costing over Rs 1 crore.
The Minister laid foundation of a bridge and approach road at Lower Muthi Nai Basti to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 61.34 lakh. It was a long-pending demand of the people of the area and would connect Lower Muthi-Nai Basti with the Gajansu main road and benefit a population of over two thousand.
The Minister also launched blocktopping work on Poonch Line- Rama Krishna Mission Colony-Udhaywala involving a cost of Rs 45 lakh. This was also a long pending demand of the locals as the condition of the existing road was quite shabby.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said road connectivity is key to the development and prosperity of people and it is endeavor of the present Government to strengthen this vital sector. He said the Government has devised a comprehensive programme to upgrade/ blacktop all the existing roads in a phased manner and work on most of these has been completed.
Interacting with the locals, the Minister asked them to personally supervise the developmental activities to ensure their quality as per the specifications. He said Government’s responsibility is to provide funds for the development, but it is the locals who have to come forward and to see whether the works have been executed as per specifications on the ground. He sought their cooperation for ensuring the development in all sectors and asked for providing necessary feedback regarding the local priorities so that Government takes appropriate action on the same.
