Bali reviews implementation of NHM schemes

Jammu, Sept 13: Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat today said that colour coding of bedsheets and prescription audit will be implemented in all the hospitals across the State.
The Minister stated this while reviewing the progress under various schemes being implemented under National Health Mission (NHM) across the State at a high level meeting held at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
Stressing on the need for putting in place an effective monitoring mechanism, the Minister directed the concerned officers to ensure the same for effective implementation of various schemes and programmes and said that Government is putting in all out efforts for ensuring transparency and accountability at different levels.
Underlining the importance of generating mass awareness regarding various Government sponsored schemes especially in rural areas, Bhagat called upon the field functionaries of Health Department to carry out massive awareness drives across the State with active involvement of ASHAs and NGOs.
Minister directed the concerned officers of NHM to highlight the components and benefits of the schemes through electronic and print media so that maximum people could avail the benefits of those schemes.
Several issues related to effective implementation of programmes like Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK), establishment of call centre/control room in Jammu and Srinagar, colour coding of medicine supply , procurement of three colour bed sheets, operationalization of ambulance service under 102 besides various other related issues were comprehensively discussed during the meeting.
While discussing the modalities for operationalization of 102 service in the State, the minister directed the concerned for speedy completion of the procedure so that the service is operationalized immediately.
Director NHM informed the meeting that National Summit on Best Practices and innovations was held at Tirupati recently where J&K State’s initiative of unique institutionalization of ASHA and info graphics on NCD was selected and power point presentation was made which was appreciated by the minister.
Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Dr. M. K. Bhandari, Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. B. S. Pathania, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Saleem, Director Family Welfare, Dr. Baldev Sharma, Director NHM Dr. Mohan Singh , MD Medical Supply Corporation Dr. Yash Paul Sharma besides others attended the meeting .
