MENDHAR, Dec 30: After remaining headless for six years, Mendhar Beopar Mandal members here today unanimously elected Balram Sharma as their new president.
The election process in this regard took place during a meeting which remained peaceful.
The meeting was attended by shopkeepers from all the communities including Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs.
Expressing gratitude to his electors, Balram Sharma said that his election reflects the unity and faith of the community.
He assured to fulfil his responsibility with utmost sincerity.
The post of Mendhar Beopar Mandal president was vacant since the demise of former president, Parveen Sawhney.
Shopkeepers have hailed Sharma’s election and expressed hope that it will strengthen harmony and brotherhood in the region.
They assured full cooperation to Balram Sharma.
