Balshama ‘hit & run’ case solved, accused nabbed

RAJOURI, Sept 9: The police worked out a `hit and run’ case by arresting the accused, mini-truck driver in Nowshera sector of district Rajouri, allegedly involved in the act in which a young man had died.
The incident took place on August 29, when a motorcycle JK11C- 9363 was knocked by an unknown vehicle near Balshama falling under the jurisdiction of Dharamsal Police Station on Jammu- Rajouri -Poonch highway.
In this incident, motorcyclist Pawan Kumar, son of Kamal Kumar, resident of Chakli village of Rajouri died after which a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Dharamsal Police Station and investigation was set into motion.
The police team from Dharamsal taking all vital technical leads including CCTV footages along the highway identified the vehicle involved in the hit and run case and tracked the mini -truck No. JK02BX 4904, the accused driver namely Raman Kumar, son of Pritam Kumar, resident of Chowki Chowra has been arrested and vehicle seized. Further, investigation into the matter is in progress.
