NEW DELHI: Giving no relief to automobile manufacturers, the Supreme Court today refused to stay its December 16, 2015, order banning diesel vehicles with 2000 cc or more engine capacity.
The order was passed by a three-judge bench of the Apex Court comprising Chief Justice Tirath Singh Thakur and Justices Arun Kumar Sikri and R Bhanumati.
Three automobile manufacturers, Mercedes Benz, Mahindra and Mahindra and Toyota had moved the Apex Court, seeking modification of the order .
The court will hear later in the day the arguments from Union of India. (AGENCIES)
