JAMMU, Mar 10: The former Union Minister of State for Defence, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has termed it as hoax, the ban on Jaish-e-Mohammad or any other terror outfit by Pakistan. He said that various such bands are part of the notorious ISI, intelligence wing of Pakistan Army headed by its generals.
It is on record that PM, Imran Khan having said that ISI is front line of Defence of Pakistan, he pointed out and added JeM or any other such outfits operating from Pak controlled areas are underground wings of the Pak Army, which have been cheating even country like America and others.
Prof. Gupta recalled that in late eighties when the then military ruler of Pakistan, General Zia-ul-Haq, had launched this proxy war against India in Kashmir. Main terrorist outfit was named as Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) but as its commanders were pleading for Independent Kashmir, the ISI discarded the JKLF, the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, a military arm of Jamat-e-Islami, was brought in the forefront along with Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and several others. But to have better striking force, the new outfits like the Lashker-e-Toiba and then Jaish-e-Mohammad were floated which are now in the forefront. But in fact these all bands were under the command and control of ISI which is the real wire puller. Civil Government there is mere a show piece. It is Army which call the shots, he added.
In short, he said that it was unfortunate that a rougue has developed in the neighbor hood making the life miserable in this State as also elsewhere by employing terror as a tool to Pak designs.
Prof. Gupta lamented over the wisdom of Congressmen and some others who are seeking the proof about the number of casualties of terrorists in PoK camps ignoring the fact that airmen had penetrated at the bases of enemy. This has added to the glory of IAF and the will of the county that cross border terrorism would not be tolerated anymore.
About the role of certain mainstream bodies, Prof. Gupta said that power crazy politicians have developed vested interests in the sad situation in the Valley of Kashmir and changing colours like the weather and playing dubious role to fuel militancy and separatism ignoring the sufferings of the common man.
He stressed for firm and determined efforts to deal with both at home and also at international arena, And expose the real face of the enemies of the peace and integrity of the country.
