Sir,
I would like to seek the attention of Transport Minister & Inspector General of Police (Traffic) to consider a complete ban on pressure and musical horns used by public transport (trucks and buses) and heavy fine must be imposed on those breeding law.
The use of musical and pressure horns not only creates noise pollution, but is also disturbing for the children and old aged persons as it creates hearing problems. As the national highway is jam prone, the vehicles on slightest jamming etc use these horns continuously till the traffic moves.
It is observed that the stranded private vehicles along the national highway add to woes, as they not only hinder the smooth flow of traffic, but also risk the lines of passersby.
As we all know, the traffic movement along the highway has considerably increased in last few years due to increase in the number of vehicles. As 10 tyres, 12 tyres, 16 tyres vehicles ply on national highway they leave little space for others. It is apparent that the roads cannot be made overnight, but problems can be lessened by taking the simple steps as outlined above.
Yours etc….
