Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘Civil suit seeks ban on film ‘PK’ DE Aug 19.
Past experience shows us that seeking ban on a book or a movie only boosts the sales of these art works and nothing else. The best way to give publicity to these matters is to take them to a court. As it generates enthusiasm among the people’s they lose no time in buying the book or watching the movie.
Therefore, the suit filed causes more damage to the intented purpose for which ban was sought, than remaining mute. Besides, the producers and directors remain indebted to the plaintiff for filling their coffers.
Today audience is very much aware of the content of the film. They can differentiate what is good or bad for them. Therefore, it is better to leave the book or movie to the judgement of audience.
Yours etc…
