Srinagar, Apr 1: The District Administration Bandipora today launched a massive drive against violators of COVID-19 guidelines and realized a fine of Rs 54000 from violators from across the district.
Acting upon the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, a campaign was launched at public places across the district by Revenue & Police officers, Municipal Council and committees and Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs to check the spurt of COVID-19 pandemic.
The drive was held at vulnerable spots where public gatherings are always expected including bus stand, passenger transport, business establishments and malls besides pedestrians, shopkeepers to ensure that the public, in general, adheres to all SOPs, especially the use of face masks besides other guidelines envisaged to curb Covid-19 pandemic spread.
SDM Sumbal realized a fine of Rs 15000, SDM Gurez Rs 1400, Tehsildar Bandipora Rs 4850, Tehsildar Aloosa Rs 950, Tehsildar Ajas Rs 3500, Tehsildar Hajin Rs 2000, Police Control Room Bandipora, Rs 21700, Assistant Director FCS&CA Rs 3800 while MC Bandipora impose a fine of Rs 800 on the people not wearing face masks, official said.
The officers of different departments along with a contingent of policeman and other officials of the municipality launched a massive campaign/drive to ensure that people of any age category shall follow all guidelines and SOPs strictly so that apprehension of any fresh spread could be averted and curbed before it can cause mass spread.
