Bangla national escapes from PS

JAMMU, Dec 8: A Bangladeshi national today escaped from Arnia police station taking cover of repair work going on in the premises of police station.
Identified as Mohammad Saifullah Islam son of Mohammad Siraj Ali, a resident of Tangyal, Bangladesh, the Bangladeshi national had been lodged in Arnia police station for deportation to his country after he had completed his sentence awarded to him by the court for illegal infiltration into India.
Police said the Bangladeshi national was sitting in open during the day when he took advantage of repair work going on in the police station as some concertina wire had been removed. He slipped away from the police station and was absconding.
Army police tried to search the accused but he remained untraced.
Police said an inquiry has been ordered into the escape of Bangladeshi national. A case has also been registered against him at Arnia police station.
The Bangladeshi national had completed his jail term and had been lodged in Arnia police station awaiting deportation to Pakistan.
This was third escape of an accused from police custody during past about one week. Recently, a thief taken by police from Kot Bhalwal jail for questioning in connection with thefts, had escaped from Channi Himmat police station.
Another detenue taken by the cops to Jalandhar from Kot Bhalwal jail for producing him in the court had also escaped from Jalandhar from the custody of police personnel few days back.
