Dhaka, Nov 29: Bangladesh Foreign Minister. AK Abdul Momen has lauded the achievements of Bangladeshi women saying that they have brought fame for the country and proved themselves at the global arena.
He said that women are making important contribution in all aspects of development of the country. Men as well as our women are proving their worth by participating in several endeavours, which is very promising he said.
The Foreign Minister congratulated Zainab Binte Hossain Shantu, the first lady of Bangladesh who conquered Mount Lobuche, when she came to meet the Foreign Minister at the Foreign Office on Saturday evening.
Dr. Momen greeted her with flowers and Zainab presented the flag of Bangladesh to the Foreign Minister. Foreign Minister said that this glorious example of the first woman of Bangladesh in the list of mountaineers to scale Mount Lobuche would inspire the women of Bangladesh to achieve success.
He wished Zainab more success in the future and assured her of his support in any endeavor to enhance the reputation and dignity of Bangladesh. Nasir Milky (Sourav), the sponsor of the Lobuche mountain expedition in Zainab, was present at the occasion.
On November 1, Zainab Binte Hossain Shantu became the first Bangladeshi woman to bring glory to Bangladesh by conquering the 8,119-meter mount Lubuche of Nepal. (UNI)
