KATHUA, Sept 24: The residents of tehsil Bani are in darkness due to failure of power supply for last five days caused after damage to electric poles due to heavy rains in Sheetal Nagri area last week. The whole Bani tehsil is in darkness and villages are facing problems as the power supply is completely breakdown and important offices and essential services are also not working due to lack of power supply.
The cause of power failure is due to the in snapping of power supply line and the Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to restore the power supply by replacing the damaged poles. The people of Bani are paying the price of lackness of the Department.
The Ex Minister, Prem Sagar Aziz said that Government needs to take speedy action to install the electric poles damaged due to rainfall in Sheetal Nagri area and provide relief to common man . He said that it is very unfortunate that the Department has failed to restore the power supply during last five days. The people of whole Bani tehsil are in darkness and most of the services like mobile phone, banks and Government offices are badly affected and creating serious problem to common man.
