Bani police solves blind murder case, arrests one

KATHUA, June 16: A major breakthrough in blind murder case was achieved by Kathua police today under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal after arresting the accused who was evading his arrest since day of incident.
Police said on dated June 1 a missing report was lodged at Police Station (PS), Bani regarding Sohan Lal, son of Gyan Chand of Bani. On this major hunt was started by police in Sub Division Basholi. Today with the rigorous efforts of Inspector, H M Shahnawaz, SHO PS Bani under the supervision of SDPO, Basholi Shazia Akhter Mir succeeded in arresting accused namely Kewal Singh, son of Bindra Ram of Fatehpur Bani. On disclosure, the body of deceased namely Sohan Lal was recovered from deep gorge at Mandhol, Bani wherein the body was shifted to SDH Bani for Autopsy. Thereafter the body of deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. Meanwhile further investigation is going on in case FIR No. 36/2021 U/S 302/IPC and his involvement in any other case is ascertained.
