Banihal militant remanded to 10 days police custody

JAMMU, June 28: Special Judge Sunit Gupta today granted 10 days police remand of Nadeem-Ul-Haq, son of Abdul Rehman of Banihal from whose possession police recovered 5-6 kilograms of IED at Narwal yesterday.
After going through the application, Special Judge observed, “accused was arrested on 27.06.2021 in case/FIR NO. 234/2021 Police Station Bahu Fort for the offences under Sections 121/122 IPC, 13/18/23/38/39 UA(P) ACT & 4/5 Exp Act”, adding “the presence of the accused has been secured through virtual mode and I do not find any kind of external  injury on his face or body. The accused is found to be medically examined by the medical officer today itself and the medical certificate in this regard is also form the part of the remand application”.
“The accused has been duly conveyed with regard to his legal rights. Since the matter is heinous in nature and some important aspects are required to be ascertained in the instant case for which police remand of the accused is required for the purpose of investigation”, the court said and remanded the accused to the police custody for ten days.
