JAMMU, Jan 7: Joining the series of protests across the country, Bank employees here under the banner of Jammu Province Bank Employees Federation (JPBEF) staged a protest demonstration today at Shalamar.
The protest was led by Arun Kumar Gupta, General Secretary of Federation.
A handout claimed that economic slowdown, job losses, sky rocketing prices of essential commodities, unemployment, inflation and wrongly merger of banks has badly affected the economy of the country.
Gupta asked the protesting employees of all the Banks to remain vigilant and ready for further struggles that may come up after All India Banks’ strike on January 8.
The protesters raised slogans against the policies of the Government.
Speaking on the occasion Ashwani Pradhan, General Secretary of PNBOA cautioned against the alleged social discontent slowly brewing up in the country.
R.K Bamba, Tara Singh, R.K Bhat, A.B Khajuria and others also spoke on the occasion.
