Bank Manager killed, pedestrian injured in mishap

JAMMU, Nov 27: A Bank Manager was killed while a pedestrian was injured today in a road mishap in Jhajjar Kotli area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a Bolero car bearing registration number JK02BQ-9844 being driven in a negligent manner from Jammu to Katra this morning rammed into a roadside hillock before hitting a woman, who was crossing the road, at Domail.
He said that in the mishap, an occupant of the car namely Shiv Kumar Sudan (58) son of Vishwa Nath, resident of Talab Tillo, sustained serious injuries while the woman identified as Neetu Devi (37) wife of Paras Ram, resident of Suketar, also got injured.
Both the injured were immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Shiv Kumar Sudan, who was reportedly Manager of Bank of India, Katra, succumbed to his injuries at about 1.50 PM. “After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, he said.
A case in this connection was registered at police station Jhajjar Kotli and investigations started while efforts were on to nab the absconding Bolero driver, who was identified as Abhay Mahajan son of Gulshan Kumar Gupta, resident of Bharat Nagar (Jammu), fled from the spot of crime, as he escaped unhurt. The accused is reportedly a cashier in the same bank.
