JAMMU, May 22: The J&K State Committee of All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC) has announced active support to agitational programme by United Forum of Bank Union.
Decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of the State committee, held at SBI, Admin Office, Rail Head Complex, Jammu. The meeting was presided over by Satish Khajuria, president, AIBOC JK, and was attended by officer representatives from all Public Sector Banks in the State.
Addressing the meeting, Suresh Wali, State Secretary AIBOC, appraised the participants about the lackadaisical attitude of Government of India and IBA combine in addressing the issue of wage revision in banks which is overdue since Nov 2017. He said that by offering meager 2 percent increase in wages, IBA has played a cruel joke with the banking employees.
He further appraised the members that United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has given a call for agitation program which includes demonstrations and black badge wearing on 24th May 2018 and 29th May 2018, which shall culminate into a nation wide bank strike on 30th and 31st May 2018.
