UDHAMPUR, Aug 8: Forest official foiled a major attempt of illicit extraction and smuggling of banned minor forest produce and seized 18 kg Gucchi as well as 380 kg Bharmi Booti.
A team led by Range Officer Udhampur, Mahesh Abrol and Incharge Check Post Laddan Udhampur, Ved Parkash, seized the forest produce, which was packed in 22 bags and loaded in a Load Carrier bearing registration number JK14D-2253.
The Load Carrier was intercepted late last night and the banned MFP was seized besides arrest of the driver. A case under relevant section of the law has been registered in this connection.
