Bantalab Committee lists demands

JAMMU, May 29: A meeting of Bharat Nagar Enclave, Bantalab Welfare Committee was held under the chairmanship of M.K.Pandita, its president, in which various issues concerning the people of the area were discussed.
The Committee, while highlighting its problems expressed serious concern over the dilapidated condition of roads and other problems being faced by people due to non-installing of street lights. The tilted electricity poles and hanging wires pose grave risks to the passersby. No macadamization work of bye lanes has been started till date despite the matter having been brought into the notice of concerned R&B Division time and again.
Further, in view of acute and irregular supply of drinking water to the households of the area, the meeting appealed the Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti Department to replace the 30 years old 2.5 inches supply pipe with 4 inches pipe as the number of consumers has substantially increased.
The meeting also appealed the Chief Engineer, PDD to install a separate electric line to the pumping station situated at Bharat Nagar Bantalab in order to ensure the lifting of water to the overhead tank uninterruptedly.
