RAMNAGAR, Nov 30:- Banti Devi, BJP Member from W.No- 01, Municipal Committee, Ramnagar, was elected as Chairman of the Committee, the election of which was held today.
The voting results were announced by Returning Officer. All the 13 members came to vote at the stipulated time. Out of which 8 members voted in favour of Banti Devi while Romesh Kumar of JKNPP could get only 5 votes. Banti Devi was declared elected with a margin of 3 votes.
Ranbir Singh Pathania, spokesperson J&KBJP while congratulating Banti Devi and the other ward members as well as the senior members of BJP said that this is a classic example of the inclusive approach of party with a difference, that a female from SC community will preside over the affairs of Ramnagar Municipal Committee.
He complimented the party High Command and the members of M.C Ramnagar for showing their full support for Banti Devi.
