JAMMU, Jan 19: Banyan International School celebrated its Annual Day themed ‘Incredible Jammu and Kashmir’ at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, here. This year the school celebrated the rich cultural heritage of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The chief guest on the occasion, Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Jammu lighted the ceremonial lamp and gave a go ahead to the celebrations.
Vice- Chairman of the School Sahil Mahajan presented welcome address and emphasised on the importance of celebration of Annual Day in schools and how it helps in grooming the overall personalities of the students.
Principal Ramesh TR presented Annual Report highlighting the achievements. He apprised the parents about various awards and recognitions received by the school including the ‘India School Merit Award’ and the Brainfeed ‘School Excellence Award’ for ‘Innovative practices’ and ‘Sports Education’.
The cultural event commenced on a pious note with the Devi Stuti. The cultural programme further included the dances from various region of Jammu and Kashmir like Kashmiri Dance, Ladakhi Dance, Bhaderwahi dance, Kishtwari Dance, Rajouri Dance, Dogri Dance and Gojari Dance.
Finally, Chairman of the School, Harinder Mahajan presented vote of thanks.
