Bar flays those challenging accession

JAMMU, Oct 5: High Court Bar Association Jammu today expressed grave concern over the utterances of mainstream political parties, which are toeing the line of the separatists by challenging the accession of the State with India.
The Bar in a meeting held here made it clear that they will not tolerate such statements, which are not only misleading but also creating doubts in the minds of general public.
The Bar advised the political leaders to concentrate more on the welfare of its citizens rather than harping on such issues. The barbaric and inhuman attitude of the Kishtwar Police was also condemned by the Bar and an appeal was made to the Government to check such human rights violations at the hands of police and take action against the culprits.
The Bar also invited the attention of the Government towards the repeated instances of infiltration by the Pak sponsored militants backed by its State sponsored agencies and the ways and means required by the State as well as Central Government to check the same by strengthening the security agencies.
The timely action of the Army to counter militants at Keran sector was also appreciated.
The meeting was attended by office bearers of J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu, M K Bhardwaj (President), Sindhu Sharma (Vice-President), Ranjit S Jamwal (General Secretary), Prem Sadotra (Joint Secretary), Gurveer Singh (Cashier) and members of the YLA amongst others.
