Bar to observe strike today

JAMMU, Mar 11: The Executive Committee of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its president M K Bhardwaj here today condemned the brutal attack on lawyers in Jaipur and Chandigarh by the police.
“There was no occasion for the police to resort to such inhuman acts when the lawyers in Jaipur were peacefully marching towards the Assembly in support of their demands”, the Executive Committee said.
It was resolved in the meeting that in view of such unwarranted acts, immediate and appropriate action against the guilty police officials should be taken by the concerned. It was further resolved that in order to show solidarity to the fraternity at Chandigarh and Jaipur and in view of the call given by the Bar Council of India for all India strike, a one day token strike will be observed in all the Courts including the High Court tomorrow.
The meeting was attended by office bearers of J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu Sindhu Sharma, vice-president, Ranjit Jamwal, general secretary, Prem Sadotra, joint secretary, Gurveer Singh, cashier and members of the Executive Committee.
