JAMMU, June 25: On a specific complaint, Food Safety authorities, Jammu conducted surprise inspection of food eatery ‘Barbeque Nation Hospitality’ at Greater Kailash Jammu the other day and closed it for not maintaining hygienic parameters.

A senior official from Food Safety Organisation Jammu said that the checking squad, led by Assistant Director Food Safety found the kitchen of eatery totally unhygienic and unhealthy, neglecting the sanitary and hygienic parameters as mandated under the Provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, rules/regulation 2011.
He said the action against proprietor of the restaurant under section 56 and 58 of the Act was recommended.
The authorities immediately stopped the commercial activities of the restaurant besides issuing improvement notice with the direction to carry necessary renovations within 10 days to meet the set sanitary parameters, failing which action as warranted under the aforesaid Act & regulations, shall be initiated without any further notice.
