SAMBA, June 3: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today expressed serious concern over the lack of development in Bari- Badori area of Bari Brahmana in Samba district.
“The administration, which has been working on the directions of a particular leader, has ignored Bari-Badori area in different sectors of development,” Manjit Singh alleged.
He was addressing a public meeting in Bari- Badori area where people apprised him various problems being faced by them.
The locals alleged that their area is not provided adequate drinking water and electricity, while the condition of road was also not good. Mr Singh assured that he would raise this issues before the concerned authorities for early redressal.
The locals also alleged that though they are living near the Industrial area yet their educated youth have not been provided jobs in factories in Bari Brahmana and the outsiders (non local) are engaged as workers.
Mr Singh said that he would raise this issue and try to mitigate the problem which has forced people to face unemployment despite the fact that the industries are promoted to provide jobs to the locals.
He stressed for the incorporation of 73rd and 74th Amendment Act of Panchayat Raj Act of India into the J&K Panchayati Raj Act to empower them at the grass root level.
