SAMBA, Feb 12: Bari Brahmana police under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana has arrested one hardcore criminal namely Kapil Sharma alias Jimmy son of Kamal Sharma of Chowadhi, Sainik Colony, Jammu.
Police said it arrested the criminal under Case FIR No. 11/2024 U/S420/323/342/506 IPC lodged at Police Station (PS), Bari Brahmana.
Police said PS Bari Brahmana had registered FIR 11/2024, on basis of a complaint alleging incessant violence, illegal confinement and cheating fraudulently run drug de-addiction centre in Birpur, Bari Brahmana. Post registering FIR, police party was immediately dispatched and 15 victims of violence were rescued and reunited with their family members. However, the main accused Kapil Sharma alias Jimmy was absconding.
Sustained efforts of PS Bari Brahmana finally led to arrest of absconding criminal today. This arrest was executed by police party comprising of PSI Nirmal Singh, Sgct Tavinder Singh led by SHO Sumeet Sharma of Police Station Bari Brahmana, police said.
The accused is wanted in 17 FIRs in Jammu and Samba districts, with involvement in heinous offenses such as attempt to murder, peddling narcotics, illegally carrying weapons, snatching etc, police said.
This arrest adds to the continuous efforts of Samba Police to bring criminal elements to justice. It also sends a strong signal to anti-social elements that, there will be absolutely zero tolerance for any criminal activity in Samba district, police said.
