Bari Brahmna police arrests 3 for black marketing K Oil; seizes tanker, 2 trucks

JAMMU, Aug 4: Tightening its noose on black-marketers & in a bid to ensure hassle free supply of essential commodities to the people, District Police Samba has busted a gang involved in pilferage of PDS Kerosene Oil for its illegal sale and arrested three persons and seized one oil tanker, two trucks and recovered 15,000 litres of Kerosene Oil.
Acting on specific information regarding smuggling of Kerosene Oil in the jurisdiction of PS Bari-Brahmana, a team from P/S Bari-Brahmana headed by SHO, Inspector, Darshan Singh under the supervision of SDPO Bari-Brahmana, Sunil Kesar conducted a raid in Sarore Adda, Bari Brahmana and held three persons unloading 15,000 liters of Kerosene Oil illegally from one Oil Tanker No.JK02X 9397 and loading the same in two trucks bearing Registration Nos.JK02AH-4728 & JK02AF 3127.
The accused persons identified as Bopinder Singh S/o Pritam Singh R/o Chatha, Satwari, Jammu (owner of oil tanker), Rashpal Singh, S/o Chak Mohd. Yaar, RS Pura, Jammu and Kapoor Chand, S/o Kathu Ram, R/o Rathana Camp, RS Pura, Jammu (truck drivers) have been arrested on spot. All the three vehicles along with 15000 liters of kerosene oil were also seized.
In this regard a case FIR No. 91/2019 U/S 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered at P/S Bari-Brahmana and further investigation is going on to unearth the network of illegal suppliers and purchasers of PDS kerosene oil.
However sources said the main kingpin has given a slip to the police and evaded his arrest. Police has launched search to arrest him also.
