REASI, Apr 18: Seeking attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards his election promise for solution of the demands of Mata Vaishno Devi Baridars, the members of Shri Vaishno Devi Sewa Committee Baridaran (SVDSCB) organized a rally, here today.
Carrying placards and banners, they raised slogans in support of their demand of compensation by the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, share in offerings on the pattern of Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board and quota for them in the SMVDSB.
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma today submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Reasi for forwarding the same to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking fulfillment of promise with the Baridars.
In the memorandum, Jugal Kishore has quoted the instances of a number of shrines in other parts of the country, particularly in Himachal Pradesh, where the respective Baridars have been compensated and given a share of offerings.
