Jammu, Aug 28: Continuing efforts on providing a clean and virtuous ambience to the residents of Ward-41, Senior Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Leader and JMC Councillor Sanjay Kumar Baru along with Mandal President Keshav Chopra, Jatin Sethi and Ward President Ashok Wazir started the construction work of first drain at KC Hazuri Bagh Bohri.
Pertinent to mention here that in this specific area more than 500 families are residing and there does not exists even a single drain earlier and subsequently causing chaos during all rainy seasons for locals since last three decades.
Baru said that works has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 7.5 lakhs and executed by JMC (Jammu Municipal Corporation) under the 14th Finance Commission.
Speaking on the occasion, Baru said that after a long follow up and strenuous efforts, finally a big project for construction of a deep drain has been sanctioned at a cost Rs 4.5 Crores under AMRUT and now after the technical sanction, the construction of deep drain is about to start in days.
Prominent people of the area highly appreciated the efforts of Sanjay Baru, the Local Councillor for upgradation of Electricity Infrastructure in the Ward including installation of 15 new transformers and paid their gratitude for overall development works including construction of nearly 75 percent lanes and drains.
Shaktikendra Parmukh Rakesh Sharma, Soarav Gupta, Sanjay Sharma, Mohan Lal Gupta, Subash katoch, Varinder Gupta, Santosh Gupta, Anju Choudhary, Ritu Gandhi, Mukta Mahajan and others were also present on the occasion.
