Barwal residents protest against Railways

KATHUA, Aug 10: The residents of village Barwal and its adjoining areas held a protest demonstration against the Railways authorities for their failure in completing the under path works creating serious problems to people due to water logging and worst condition of road.
The residents raised anti Railway authorities’ slogans. While addressing the protestors’ the speakers alleged that since last eight months, more than 20,000 population of the area is facing hardship due to non completion of under path of Jammu-Pathankot Railway Line connecting village Barwal and its adjoining area.
One protestor Ranjit Singh Pathania said that they are disconnected from National Highway since last eight months. The railways authorities have abandoned the work in middle causing serious problems to them. Despite the repeated requests made to all concerned offices, no one took care of it, he added.
The protestors warned the Railway authorities to complete the work earlier failing which they will launch agitation. They said the regular mails and reminders were sent to Ministry of Railways and Transport, CEO Railway, RS Mina, but to no avail. The Railways never bothered to listen the common man and were adopting the adamant attitude, they added.
