UDHAMPUR, May 18: The students of Govt Higher Secondary School Basantgarh staged a massive protest against the LG’s administration and Education department at tehsil headquarters Basantgargh today for failure to provide adequate staff and quality education.
The student leader Shahpan Singh was leading the protest. The students were raising loud slogans against LG, Chief Secretary, Director Education Jammu and also against BJP Govt. They also raised slogans in support of their demands. Click here to watch video
Shahpan Singh addressed the large gathering and alleged that they are victimised due to the mismanaged and poor quality of education system since long in this remote belt of Ramnagar constituency. He alleged that they approached the administration many times and requested them to provide adequate staff as about 7 posts of lecturers were lying vacant in this school but nobody cared about our plight.
Two other students Asif Bhat and Javed told that if the LG administration fails to take action then the students will be forced move to Udhampur and stage indefinite dharna outside DC office. They regretted that this if perhaps for the first time that Administration/ Govt has turned `blind and deaf’ over the plight of the general masses.
Meanwhile, Surjeet Dhowan join secretary of AISF extended support to the protesters and also warned the administration that if it failed to take action then whole unit of AISF will come on roads in the support of Basantgarh students.
