Neglect Basohli

Sir,
In order to have complete information about the aquatic life one has to take a deep dip in a sea. In the past wise and people friendly kings used to roam about in the streets in the guise of a common man to have firsthand information about the problems and sufferings of their subjects. There is no dearth of such rulers in the world who are following the same tradition in their respective countries. The examples of Jens Stoltenberg the prime minister of Norway, Barrak Obama the president of USA and Vladimir Putin the prime minister of Russia are worth mentioning here. According to one news the prime minister of Norway worked secretly as taxi driver in uniform in the streets of Oslo, Barrak Obama took his lunch in the restaurants of down town and Vladimir Putin drove bike on the roads of Moscow to have knowledge about the welfare of the masses. We are lucky enough to have our own elected representatives in the state legislative assemblies and in Parliament. The jurisdiction of MLA is confined only to their constituency while that of a minister is spread over the whole state. It is a common experience thatthe state ministers usually visit their own  constituencies or those which have already their representatives in the state council of ministers whereas the other constituencies like the one Basohli has always been deliberately kept out of their itineraries for the decades. Basohlitehsil on the whole has been reeling under number of problems like poverty, unemployment, scarcity of drinking water, inadequate medical and public distribution system facilities, lack of connectivity, transportation and the tourism in the tehsil. The visits, particular of the state ministers have always proved beneficial for the illaqas they visit because the masses get an opportunity for highlighting their problems before the ministers and the concerned authorities for their immediate solution instead of routing their written complaints which are lost on the tables due to red tapeism. But one fails to understand why the ministers of the state always neglect the Basohli tehsil during their official tours except during the days of election. According to the estimate of the Basohlites no state minister of any rank has ever paid any formal or official visit to Basohli or has held any janta durbar for the last decade in order to sensitize themselves regarding the suffering of the masses. No doubt the ministers spend their intervening nights at PWD guest house on their journey to Bani and back.
Yours etc…..
