KATHUA Oct 5: In stringent action against narco smuggling, team of Police Station Basohli led by Inspector, Vikas Dogra, SHO apprehended one notorious narco smuggler and seized contraband in his illegal possession.
Police said during checking in Sheetal Nagri area it arrested one narco smuggler namely Suresh Kumar, S/o Dalip Singh, R/o Gadodi Basohli and seized 350 grams poppy straw and 50 grams cannabis (charas) in his illegal possession.
The accused is responsible for spreading drugs in society and playing with life of many youths. Police Station Basohli had already booked him earlier in two cases FIR No 40/2019 and 51/2016 under Excise Act.
Police Station Basohli registered a case FIR No 52/2019 U/s 8/15/20 NDPS Act and started investigation into the case.
Kathua police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace. “We requested people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption of drugs with police for the common cause”, a handout issued by the police here today said.
