KATHUA, Apr 4 : Kathua police today recovered approximately one Kilogram of poppy straw (Bhukki) like narcotics at Atal Setu bridge area of Police Station (PS) Basohli, arrested one narco- smuggler and narcotic substance as well as vehicle (Eco Car) was seized on the spot.
police said today its team led by Inspector, Jaswinder Singh SHO PS Basohli under the supervision of SDPO Basohli, Aakash Kohli- during routine naka/patrolling duty at Atal Setu bridge Basohli area noticed the movement of one suspicious vehicle (Eco Car) bearing Registration Number JK08L-4378 which was driven by Kamlesh Kumar, son of Jai Dayal of Sandhi, tehsil Bani, district Kathua enrouted from Punjab towards Basohli.
During checking approximately one kg of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like narcotics was recovered from his illegal possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotic substance (Bhukki) as well as vehicle involved was seized and one person was arrested. A case FIR No. 21/2023 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Basohli. Further
