JAMMU, Feb 3: Batwal Welfare Association has demanded representation to the community in Upper House and other important forums of the Government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to media persons, here today, Sat Pal Lakhotra, former MLA and president of the Association said that the community had no representation in the State Legislature, State Development Boards, District Development Boards and other important forums of the Government despite their big strength in State. “However, other communities with a meager strength have been given all sorts of representation in the State,” he added.
Claiming that the Batwal community has no effective say in the State only due to non-representation to them, Mr Lakhotra alleged that there was no action on various demands of the community, highlighted through memorandums to different Government Departments and institutions.
