Batwani residents’ delegation meets Director Health Services

SRINAGAR, Oct 5: A deputation of village Batwina Ganderbal today called on Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed at his office chamber and brought all the problems and demands of the area in his notice.
They also submitted a memorandum to him highlighting the shortage of doctors. paramedical staff as well as post of Block Medical Officer (BMO) in Wakura block of Ganderbal district.
The deputation urged the Director to depute local doctors of the area who are serving in far off places in Wakura as local people are facing many hardships due to non availability of doctors in the hospital. They said one local doctor of the area presently working at Hajin, Sonawari and another local doctor of the area is working at Beero, Budgam for a pretty long time. With their adjustment in the Wakura block the problems of the people will be eased to a great extent as the doctors from other districts make their attachments in Sub district hospitals or District Hospitals avoiding to work in rural belt.
The Director assured the deputation that the problem will be sorted out soon and issued directives to Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Ganderbal to post the doctors in the area.
The deputation also met Director Animal Husbandry, Srinagar and Registrar Cooperative and discussed various problems faced by the people with them.
The deputation was led Mir Ghulam Rasool, chairman People’s Welfare Association and a trade union leader and he was accompanied by Ghulam Nabi Mir, Gh Qqdir Mir, Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Ghulam Mohiden Dar.
